Welcome to my webpage!
A little bit about myself. I go by Thomas, or feel free to call me Tom if you like. I grew up in Spring, Texas and was raised in the suburbs – the youngest in a midsize family of 5 siblings. I’ve always been pretty focused, whether in school or work. I like all kinds of music and I played the trumpet in highschool marching band. After highschool, I studied at the University of Texas at Austin, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. I have been in engineering related work off and on since 2003. I currently work in quality assurance on construction sites to ensure contractor compliance with engineering documents.
For hobbies, lately I have been big on singing at karaoke places. I also like shopping for unique relics and display pieces from antique stores, for my apartment. As far as writing, I anticipate new exciting projects in the future, possibly expanding into other genres. Some reading topics I enjoy include history, psychology, fiction, biographies, memoirs, and faith.
I invite you to check out the two books I wrote! The first book is called Hyperreligiosity to Grace – a memoir that chronicles my 10-year journey through mental illness. During this period of my life, I lost two engineering jobs due to the illness. I also spent some time living out of my vehicle and on the streets. I was institutionalized three times and received mental diagnoses. While my journey led to a pit of mental illness, by God’s grace I was able to start life anew, recover from toxic hyperreligiosity in my thinking, pursue new and exciting ventures in life, and get back into my career.
My second book Renovated Soul is a deeper look and reflection of my personal faith that I want to share with the world. I believe “Renovated Soul” will help show God’s immense Love for each of us, our priceless value from the Creator, his gift of no condemnation to each of us through Jesus, the keys to winning in your heart and mind, and spiritual principles for always thriving in this life no matter what comes your way!
